Conference on "Breast Cancer and Gynecological Cancers: Prevention, Early Diagnosis and Treatment"
"Breast Cancer and Gynecological Cancers: Prevention, Early Diagnosis and Treatment", is the topic of a meeting held at the Cultural Conference Center of Heraklion and organized by the Region of Crete (Regional Observatory for Social Inclusion) in the framework of the Programme "Action to Promote Gender Equality in the Region of Crete 2018 - 2020 ", in cooperation with the Hellenic Mediterranean University and the University of Crete.
The conference, which is open to the public, is attended by representatives of the Local Government, University doctors, the commander of the 7th Ministry of Health of Crete, executives of involved services, agencies. The Deputy Governor of Crete for Health and Social Policy, stated in his statements that, "the meeting aims to inform and raise awareness of the wider female population - girlfriend, mother, daughter, wife - the wider society, for the importance of prevention and early diagnosis, the correct treatment by a specialist, of women's cancers ".
The conference presents:
-new data from the Cancer Registration Center of Crete for women's cancers and from the Mobile Mammography Unit of the Region of Crete.
-Recommendations for prevention, the importance of early diagnosis of the disease and developments in treatment at an early and advanced stage.
The conference also develops topics for:
- genetic counseling and genetic inheritance testing,
- maintaining fertility in gynecological cancer
- the sex life of women with cancer The contribution of lifestyle to prevention
- The experiential experience of women with cancer.
