Thomas Maloutas, as Secretary General of Research and Technology and President of the National Sectoral Council for Social Research, placed particular emphasis on the formation of institutions to promote the social impact of research and the development of coordination and cooperation hubs between research institutions and public policy-making bodies. During his many years as director and president of the National Center for Social Research, he was responsible for the supervision and coordination of the center’s individual Institutes, Laboratories and Observatories (indicatively: “Observatory for Combating Discrimination”, “Observatory for the Social Economy”) that promote the systematic cooperation of researchers with local government and social actors, the development of infrastructure and tools (e.g. PANORAMA census data, KALEIDOSCOPE) that support the design and implementation of social policies. He has experience in projects and actions related to the present project that concern the monitoring and evaluation of social policies in the form of an “Observatory” and abroad. He has developed collaborations for the design of specific social policy issues that concern in particular the development of social development and networking programs. He has experience in mapping social data in geographic information systems.
