2nd teleconference on the mapping of Social Services and Social Programs in Crete
The Region of Crete held the 2nd teleconference on the mapping of social services and social programs in Crete, within the responsibilities of the Regional Social Inclusion Observatory (Observatory). The teleconference was held in the presence of the Deputy Regional Governor of Public Health and Social Policy, Lambros Vamvakas, with the participation of the President of the Social Welfare Center of the Region of Crete, Maria Damanaki.
The role of the Observatory wihting the National Mechanism for Coordination, Monitoring and Evaluation of Integration and Social Cohesion Policies and in the Regional Strategy for the Fight against Poverty and Social Inclusion of Crete (PESKE Crete) presented in the meeting. The collaboration of the Observatory with the Department of Sociology of the University of Crete was also developed for conducting specialized research on the monitoring of poverty and social exclusion in Crete. In the context of its institutional role, the Region through the Observatory informed the Social Welfare Center P.K. for the mapping of social policy services and programs as well as for its contribution to the overall project of the Observatory and PESKE Crete. The cooperation with the Social Welfare Center that operates throughout Crete is a key Core of Social Welfare of Vulnerable Groups, will continue to highlight the needs of closed and open care programs, training, rehabilitation and deinstitutionalization. of vulnerable groups.
