Political and Digital Participation in the city and neighborhoods - DECIDIM
We are pleased to invite you to take part in the event "Participating in the city and neighborhoods politically and digitally - DECIDIM" which will take place on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, 18:00 – 21:00 at the Karouzo Hall of the Chamber of Heraklion (Koroneou 9, Heraklion ).
Τhe action is co-organized by the Development Authority of Heraklion AAE OTA, the Symbiosis-School of Political Studies of the Council of Europe in Greece and the Regional Observatory of Social Inclusion of the Region of Crete, within the framework of the European project "EMV-LII - Strengthening the voices of of immigrants for Social Integration and Inclusion at the local level".
The event attempts to explore how new technology can support the political participation of immigrants in the place where they live and work, posing the question of whether democratic participation of all is possible today through digital tools. ????In this context, the electronic platform "DECIDIM" (https://her.decidim.gr) will be presented, which has been developed for the EMV-LII project and is included among the six corresponding electronic tools related to participation of migrants in local areas, in Austria, Italy, Slovenia, Greece, Germany, Croatia and Luxembourg.
E-participation platforms are developed according to e-participation best practices with the open source tool Decidim, used by the EU for the Dialogue on the Future of Europe and by various local and regional authorities, such as Barcelona, New York, Helsinki .
