Conference of the Observatory in the Regional Unit of Lassithi for the presentation of its research findings and the recording of local needs in Crete

The Region of Crete successfully held the Conference of the Regional Observatory for Social Inclusion (Observatory) - which collaborates with the Laboratory of Social Analysis and Applied Social Research (EKAEKE) of the Department of Sociology of the University of Crete -, in Neapolis Lasithi (Cinema "Driros"), with the title, "Living Conditions, Rural Deprivation Pockets and Registration of Local Needs in Crete", and the active participation of the Drectorates of Public Health and Social Care of the Regional Units (R.U.) of Lasithi and Heraklion and the social services of the Municipalities of the same Regional Units.

Conference of the Observatory in the Regional Unit of Rethymnon for the presentation of its research findings and the recording of local needs in Crete

The Region of Crete successfully held the confernece of the Regional Observatory for Social Inclusion (Observatory) -  which cooperates with the Laboratory of Social Analysis and Applied Social Research (EKAEKE) of the Department of Sociology of the University of Crete, in the Regional Unit of Rethymnon ("House of Culture" in Rethymnon), with the title, "Research Findings and Recording of Local Needs in Crete", with the active participation of the Directorate of Public Health and Social Care of the R.U. of Rethymnon, of the social services of the Municipalities of Rethymnon and the Community Centers of all the Municipalities of Crete.

Award distinction for the Observatory from the Bravo Sustainability Awards 2022 in the field of SOCIETY (BRAVO SOCIETY)

A very important distinction was won by the Region of Crete in this year's Bravo Sustainability Awards 2022, which took place at the Old Parliament House (Greek: Μέγαρο της Παλαιάς Βουλής, Paleá Voulí), as part of the Bravo Sustainability Week 2022, organized by the QualityNet Foundation. The distinction concerns the Pillar SOCIETY (BRAVO SOCIETY), for the Action: "Mapping mechanism of social services, needs and pockets of local deprivation for the formulation of social inclusion policies in the Region of Crete", of the Regional Observatory for Social Inclusion supported by the Laboratory of Social Analysis and Applied Social Research (EKAEKE) of the Department of Sociology of the University of Crete.

Includ EU (AMIF) pilot action of cultural mediation-interpretation to non-EU countries immigrants

The Region of Crete (Regional Observatory for Social Inclusion), in collaboration with the 7th Regional Health Unit of Crete, implements a pilot cultural mediation-interpretation action for immigrants from non EU countries in the framework of the European project Includ EU of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and IOM Greece.

Participation in the 3rd Workshop of the Regions of the European Project Includ EU (AMIF)

The Regional Observatory for Social Inclusion of the Region of Crete participated in the 3rd workshop of the European project Includ EU (AMIF) entitled: "Integration, creativity and human potential", organized by the Assembly of European Regions - AER in collaboration with the International Organization for Migration (IOM).

Τwo days event for Social Economy entitled "Commons in Entrepreneurship. The Social Economy in Practice", is held by the Region of Crete - Regional Development Agency of Crete (PANETAIK) SA, on Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 May 2022, at the Cultural & Conference Center of Heraklion, under the auspices of the Ministry of Labor & Social Affairs, in collaboration with the Regional Observatory of Social Inclusion. 

Great participation and interest in the presentation of the results of the surveys of the Regional Observatory for Social Inclusion of the Region of Crete

The Region of Crete - Regional Observatory for Social Inclusion, in collaboration with the University of Crete - Laboratory of Social Analysis and Applied Social Research (EKAEKE) of the Department of Sociology, held a Conference to present the results of the research for Living Conditions in Crete, Needs Assessment & Deprivation Pockets in Crete: Research Findings and Spatial Social Planning Perspectives ". The meeting highlighted issues related to the monitoring of poverty and social exclusion in Crete.

Participation in the 4th meeting of the Regional Committee for Gender Equality of Crete (PEPIS Crete) for the National Action Plan for Gender Equality 2021-2025

The 4th Meeting of the Regional Committee for Gender Equality of Crete (PEPIS Crete) was held by teleconference, chaired by the Deputy Regional Governor of Public Health and Social Policy, Lambros N. Vamvakas, with the participation of Presidents and Representatives of the Municipalities and executives of the social services of the Municipalities and the Regional Observatory for Social Inclusion of the Region of Crete.
