Vlassis Missos

Scientific Associate


Vlassis Missos is Research Fellow at the Centre of Planning and Economic Research (KEPE) in Athens, Greece, and a post-doctoral researcher at the Economics department of the University of Athens. His research interests are concentrated on issues of Social Policy, Poverty, Income Inequality as well as on Political Economy and Economic Thought.

From 2015 to late 2016, he has worked as a special consultant for the General Secretary of Fiscal Policy at the Greek Ministry of Finance and had the opportunity to participate on several meetings with the technical assistance on the implemented economic policy. In addition, from 2019 to 2021, he has worked as a consultant for the developing country of Samoa, on behalf of the Adam Smith International (Sidney).

Moreover, he has worked as a collaborator in several independent research projects and as a researcher for the Institute of Labour (INE GSEE) in Greece. His research has been published in several journals of the field. He is the coauthor of The Real Economy: Experience of Development, Crisis and Impoverishment in Greece (2018, Athens: Kritiki, in Greek) with Costis Vaitsos.
