Katerina Kassapaki

Social worker


Katerina Kassapaki is a social worker, graduated from the Hellenic Mediterranean University (ELMEPA). Since the end of 2020 she has been working at the Independent Department of the Regional Observatory of Social Inclusion of the Region of Crete.

She has worked as a Social Worker in private and public institutions. She was a member of the Scientific Staff of O.P.C. of Athens with participation in all therapeutic groups/sections such as adult therapy, psychotherapeutic communities, outpatient cases and employee groups. She was the coordinator of sociotherapeutic groups (music, theatrical games, work therapy, expression through dance, in the daily and fortnightly therapeutic community) and psychodynamic groups (psychodrama, small Group and large group in psychotherapeutic communities and the summer and fortnightly psychotherapeutic community) as well. She had worked for five years in the Especially Recognized Charity Association “CHILDREN’S FRIENDS ASSOCIATION” Accommodation & Protection for children facing problems in their family environment.

She was a scientific partner of the University of Ioannina at the Department of Philosophy Pedagogy and Psychology / Center of Bilingualism and Cultural Diversity in the program “Integration of Roma Children in School”. In 2004 she was appointed as a social worker to the Prefecture of Cyclades, and since 2010 she has been working in the Region of Crete. From 2010 to the end of 2020, she was working for the social program of the Region of Crete for supporting vulnerable social groups, social research conduction, child’s adoptions, foster care, search root for the social counseling institution. She was also supervising the internship of Social Work Students and she was taking part in the organization of Speeches-Conferences for social issues.
