Dimitra Siatitsa

Dimitra Siatitsa is a post-doctoral researcher (Department of Sociology, University of Crete, IKY Scholarship) on youth housing conditions in Greece.

She holds a PhD from the Department of Urban and Regional Planning (NTUA), a master’s degree on Architecture and Urban Culture (FPC- UPC) and a diploma on Architecture (NTUA). Her work focuses on urban studies and housing, housing inequalities, public urban and housing policies, alternative initiatives and social movements, with a special focus on Southern Europe.

She has done research on the housing crisis and austerity effects, household over-indebtment, and on alternative forms of collective housing and property. She has collaborated in European research projects on urban and sustainable development, social innovation, social cohesion and the welfare state. She has worked in the field of social welfare at the Ministry of Labour. Her work has been published in reports, edited books, journals and newspapers. She is a member of research networks and groups and a member of the editorial board of Athens Social Atlas.
